House Rowan
From Himitsu no Sensou
Rowan is a western lesser House of Dentoria that is situated west of Nallen, southwest of Eblar and southeast of Conare.
Dry forests of birch, oak and juniper, as well as the rowan trees that give the House its name, form most of its lands. The forests provide much of the area’s income in hunting, woodworking, logging and forestry, but they also allow bandits to conceal themselves with relative ease. Knight patrols constantly roam the province to drive out these bandits … as well as patrols from neighbouring House Nallen.
Those of House Rowan are especially stubborn where three things are concerned: their land, bandits, and House Nallen. Due to the prevalence of bandits in the area, House Rowan holds most of western Dentoria’s military strength. Rowan’s order of knights pride themselves on being quick and effective while leaving minimum casualties to their side. Lord Morgan runs his troops with the kind of precision one would expect from a northerner, and while this single-mindedness make for plenty of ribbing from their peers, they nevertheless respect Rowan’s dedication to protecting their land and people. In addition to bandits, for as long as anyone can remember, House Rowan has been engaged in frequent disputes with House Nallen, with outbreaks of violence near the border. No one can quite remember how or why the feud started, and attempts at reconciliation have gone by the wayside over the years. Most are resigned to the fact that the two familles are just entirely incompatible. House Rowan’s crest is a black rowan tree in bloom on white. Their words are Stand Sure.
