Born in a southern Korin town not far from the Dentorian border, from a young age, Elden was an embellisher of the truth and an actor by nature. He lied with the gretest skill imaginable, able to pull the wool over any eyes, his angelic looks and his charming smile helping his situation quite nicely. He frequently launched into theatrics and monolouges at the most bizarre of times, trying to pull attention onto himself and entertain others. His lies grew more and more bizarre and hard to detect, until it seemed that Elden had completely lost himself in them, and wasn't exactly sure how to get out -- and didn't seem like he wanted to. Lying helped him act, and acting was his everything.
He was blessed with a talent for light magic and studied half-heartedly at his family's insistance, but his passion laid elsewhere. His parents saw that he was unhappy, and that combined with their desire to see him find some sort of creative outlet for his little "problem." Despite hating to see him go, they sent him off with an acting troupe, making him promise to both write and visit often.
Elden's been a traveler since then, making half an effort to make due on his promise, as his attachment to his parents can be described as tremulous at best. He spends most of his time with acting troupes, but often switches his tune to mercenary when the money acting brings in isn't as good as it can be.
In recent months, he's met up with the dancer, Fayre and those she keeps company with, and has made himself into a member of their group. He keeps an large emotional distance from them. Or at least tries.
He lives for the theatre, and is happiest when he is performing in any capacity.

Laid back, mischevious, easy-going, and charming, Elden is rarely seen completely serious. There is a permanent mild, playful smile on his face, and even when he is very seriously discussing an issue which he has a lot of personal interest vested in, his expression never wavers. There appears to be a more serious side to him, he can turn frighteningly intense at certain times, after performances, in particular, but he appears to be an overall cheerful fellow who takes life mostly in stride.
Elden is quite the flirt, knowing that his feminine looks, charming half-smile and pleasant tenor voice are rather hard to resist. Gender doesn't matter much to him, he figures that since he's pretty enough for either gender, it would be rude to leave anyone out. He's never seen much need to discrimate. He takes a certain amusement in flirting with straight men, as he finds their reactions amusing. He's quite experienced in the pleasures of the flesh, and always enjoys finding someone who he can share this, er, interest in. However, he would never take advantage of someone inexperienced or innocent of such things, keeping his flirting with them light-hearted and clean.
He speaks in overly flowery language and tones, using the words to build up an image of himself as a smooth-talking, cultured fellow, as he knows that intelligence often incurs respect, and from that, trust.
Elden is something of a compulsive liar, having done it since childhood. When he opens his mouth, half-truths just seem to come out. Whether it's covering up something he did, playing up a compliment, exaggerating his own accomplishments, or just some pointless fib, it's a reflex to him.
Occassionally, it becomes clear that Elden's thought process isn't exactly normal, and he has a complicated and not quite correct view of the world in general. Overall, he does a decent job seeming like your average person, but there is a great deal more to him than the flirtatious actor there seems to be.

Elden is very pretty young man, with pale blonde hair, fair skin, sapphire eyes, and delicate features. He's quite tall, but very, very thin. He wears fine clothes, believing that the clothes make the man, and has his right ear pierced. (When asked why he did it, he has a different story every time, but almost always seems vaguely uncomfortable.)
